Focus on Your Passion, Not Food

Aug 28 2009

Have you ever heard it said that your body is the outward expression of your habitual thought patterns?
We are not only what we eat but what we habitually think about.
Are you thinking about how you’re going to realize your dreams or about having a hot fudge sundae?
If you’re constantly focused on living out your dream, it [...]

Don’t Let “Freshman 15″ Sneak Up On You

Aug 28 2009

It’s back-to-school time for many of us.
For many teenagers living away from home for the first time, that can mean a year of ballooning up 15 pounds or more in their first year in college.
Several things can lead to weight gain: a lack of supervision; bulking up on cheap, fattening foods in order to save money; stress; [...]

Seattle’s Great for Food — And Walking!

Aug 07 2009

I just returned from my new favorite American city — Seattle.
I was there visiting my good friend, Ann. I had visited Seattle about 15 years ago but I was in a “divorce coma” at the time and hardly remember anything about it.
But it is so beautiful, diverse, clean, and fun!
Ann lent me her condo in [...]

Weight Loss Lunch From the Garden

Aug 02 2009

I’m eating lunch from the garden today.
Well, mostly. Lunch will be fresh basil picked from my own garden, paired with fresh tomatoes from my parents’ garden, plus delicious Italian Burrata.
If you haven’t had Burrata, you must try it. Even Trader Joe’s has it. Burrata is a medium-sized ball of fresh mozzarella with cream in the middle.
Don’t [...]

How many diets have you tried?
How many times have you attempted to lose weight, only to find that you couldn’t follow through?
Almost any diet will work. That’s not to say that all diets are healthy, but the truth is, just about any will work — if you work it.
So, the uncomfortable truth that we need [...]
