  Weight Loss Christmas Wish List

Nov 23 2007

“All I want for Christmas is …a pedometer. Or a bicycle!”
These would both be great things to put on your Christmas weight loss wish list. The bicycle speaks for itself. But let me tell you about the pedometer.

Walk Your Weight off at Thanksgiving

Nov 22 2007

Enjoy the food. Enjoy the companionship
Pace yourself at the dinner table. Don’t eat anything bigger than your fist. Stop when you START feeling full.
And between the dinner and the pumpkin pie or pecan pie, take a long, leisurely walk with somebody and have a nice conversation.
Then guiltlessly enjoy your (1) dessert!

  Gratitude Despite Excess Weight

Nov 21 2007

As we approach Thanksgiving tomorrow, let’s remember to be grateful for what we have in our lives.

It wasn’t until we arrived at the duck pond that I realized we could have brought some day-old bread for the ducks. [...]

  Scientists Link Sugar with Obesity

Nov 11 2007

Today I read a Los Angeles Times story about a study in which rats, given the choice between cocaine or water sweetened by saccharin, overwhelmingly preferred the sweetened water, leading scientists to believe that the trend towards obesity may be fueled by sugar-loaded foods.
This doesn’t surprise me. Having once been a sugar addict, I almost [...]

  Stop Cursing Your Weight Issues

Nov 03 2007

This week I’ve been thinking about  how in every moment we have the opportunity to either bless ourself or curse ourself.
If, in our mind, we run ourself down because of something we said or did, or because of the way we think we look, we curse ourself.  And any time you curse yourself, you contribute [...]
